The Board of Directors of Aluminium-Laufen in Switzerland decided in the autumn of last year to invest in an additional extrusion press, to include the building of a new shed. H+H Herrmann + Hieber has been given responsibility for automating the logistics of this highly modern, fully automatic press line.
Contract announcement, Mai 2013. With an investment volume of around 30 million Swiss francs a fourth extrusion line is being built at the company’s site in Liesberg, which will improve the cost situation of the plant considerably. The new extrusion machine, with an extrusion load of 35 MN, should begin operating in April or May 2014.
For economical extrusion operation, already as part of an earlier modernisation project of the existing presses – for which H+H was again responsible – precautions had been taken. This ensures that from the start the new equipment can be seamlessly integrated into the overall logistical concept of the plant – a decisive advantage when it comes to planning the operating sequences over the long term.
