H+H supplies internal logistics for extending production at the EHEIM Group

EHEIM, a leading supplier in the field of aquariums and aquatic equipment, is extending its production in Deizisau. EHEIM has entrusted the company H+H Herrmann + Hieber with the automation of the logistics.

When in 2004 the three major European brands in the field of aquariums and aquatic equipment, EHEIM, mp and Jäger, were merged to form the EHEIM Aquatic Group, the leading supplier of aquariums and accessory equipment was established in Deizisau. Since 2012 all products and services are still on offer, under the sole umbrella trademark EHEIM. EHEIM itself was founded by the engineer Gunter Eheim in 1949 and nowadays employs around 800 people worldwide.

In retrospect it is clear that the company has grown continuously with new and innovative products. This has entailed a corresponding extension of its production facilities.

Today the production shops in Deizisau are equipped with the most modern production equipment and a sophisticated internal logistics system, As part of a production enlargement project a two-storey production building is now being extended. H+H has been awarded the contract to integrate the new equipment into the automated material flow in the plant.

The new grating-box conveyor equipment consists of vertical conveyors that connect the new storey to the existing system, and a whole series of horizontal chain conveyor units, turntables, etc., which supply and clear the new workstations and can if necessary provide buffer space. The scope of the delivery includes the control system and any necessary safety measures.

The complete plant is scheduled to begin operating at the end of May.
