H+H gains a new customer from the food trade

Contract announcement, April 2015. The food retailer “tegut… gute Lebensmittel GmbH & Co. KG” in Fulda, which serves around 280 markets, employs almost 5,200 people and achieved a net turnover of 970 million euros in 2014, is one of the largest in the branch. With a turnover proportion of 25 percent bio-products, the company holds a leading position in the market  compared with other full-range suppliers. Now that a comprehensive modernisation of the central goods-reception facility has become necessary, the company has chosen H+H Herrmann + Hieber as its partner.

The central warehouse in Fulda supplies a large proportion of the tegut… markets located relatively near the company headquarters. The logistical problem becomes evident when one considers that more than 30,000 different products can be supplied. Besides, at tegut… bio-products have been part of the product range since the 1980s, so long before the development of a sustained demand for bio-products, the company was a forerunner for that product sector.

By an extension and far-reaching modernisation of its central warehouse tegut… is making allowance for continuous growth. In the context of this contract H+H is to modernise the mechanical and electrical equipment of the central goods-reception area. Among other things that includes the complete renewal of distribution trolleys and sorting tracks. A further task is that the design of the safety systems and the associated technology have to be adapted and extended to suit the new circumstances.

All this work will be completed within a week at the end of July this year.
