For a total of 70 million euros the Austrian company Thöni Industriebetriebe is building a new extrusion plant at its site in Pfaffenhofen. Again Thöni is committed to the successful concept of systematically automated material transport, so the long-lasting collaboration with H+H Herrmann + Hieber in that sector is to continue.
When the plant in Telfs was built, from the beginning Helmut Thöni, Managing Director and proprietor of the company placed particular importance on an integrated internal logistical system covering all the movements of materials throughout the work areas. The logistics partner chosen for the planning and implementation was H+H Herrmann + Hieber, the internal logistics specialist in Denkendorf.
This concept is also to be carried forward at the new company site in Pfaffenhofen, where in the spring of 2019 the fifth and so far the largest aluminium extrusion line of the Thöni group, with an extrusion load of 56 MN, will be installed. On the basis of comprehensive material flow planning an extensive and complex transport system for the transport of long articles in load carriers is to be provided. Among other things, in Pfaffenhofen a total of four automatic cranes will be installed. There are in addition around 70 conveyor elements and machines in the system, – many of them often tried and tested components and where necessary also tailor-made material flow solutions.
The work is scheduled for completion by the end of the third quarter of 2019.
