New transport automation for pallets and IBCs

Contract announcement, September 2014. A leading German company in the cosmetics industry has entrusted H+H Herrmann + Hieber with the installation of an extensive automatic conveyor system.

The job to be done is to transport pallets and plastic IBCs (Intermediate Bulk Containers), used for the transport and storage of liquids, fully automatically through the plant. The transport takes place over several storeys of the building.

For this transport H+H is installing a system of floor-level roller tracks, on which pallets and IBCs can be moved in both directions. For the transport up and down several storeys, in addition two vertical conveyors are being installed, one of them with a lifting height of 17.5 metres for communication with the third floor.

The contract also includes consistent safety precautions. Besides access restrictions by means of barriers, in this case these mostly entail fire precautions such as high-speed gates, access blocks and others.

Commissioning will take place in two stages and will be completed in the first quarter of next year.
